That’s crazy, considering that pretty much only people who watched the anime would be interested in watching this movie. Between this and the success of Chainsaw Man, I think we’re going to see a lot more manga-to-movie adaptations instead of serial anime.

I don’t think this is the case. Out of the group of 5 that I went to see it with, I was the only one who had read the manga. What I think will happen is that we will see more final seasons turn into theatrical movie releases, as happened with demon slayer. Most of the western audiences probably wouldn’t watch if they didn’t have the anime adaptation first.

Me and wife went to see it. That is pretty crazy. Wonder if people who never saw the show went to see that movie not knowing that is part of a series.

I haven’t watched it as I’m not up to date with the anime. Would it make sense to people that didn’t watch it??

Not at all. My partner took me because they’re super into demon slayer and it was easily the most boring movie I’ve sat through.

They were absolutely in awe though. Evidently the personal lore drops were big.

No not really, this is the last ark of a series. I mean had some part of a recap, but not a stand alone movie. Now we saw One Piece movie in theaters and it could be enjoy without knowing anything about the show.
