    Coppola has been making garbage and flops for decades. i doubt any entity loaned him 200 mill thinking the movie would turn a profit. They wanted that building and Coppola’s winery.

    I like Coppola but the article did a good job and making me not feel bad for him. Oh no, his niche art film flopped so he has to sell some of his fancy watches and private island timeshare! People are starving

    Unfortunately for him, I really don’t think Megalopolis will ever reach Apocalypse Now levels of success like he’s hoping. It’s too weird for mass appeal but not weird enough to be a cult classic

    So he took out loans to make Megalopolis and now he’s selling things and borrowing more because the movie flopped so he can’t pay back the loans with the movie’s earnings?
