Today I released a new version of SSH Pilot, a user-friendly SSH connection manager.

SSH Pilot packs some useful features:

  • Built-in terminal
  • Dual-pane SFTP file manager
  • SCP file transfers
  • SSH Key generation and transfer
  • Secure storage for SSH secrets using libsecret and automatic login
  • Server grouping and color taggings
  • and more

It is available for major linux distributions, and there is a Flatpak that should run on any distro with Flatpak support.

I’m very interested in this and will try it out. There was another connection manager that the author posts on Lemmy, but the memory usage was very high due to the amount of docker containers used. A quick glance showed no requirement for docker. The ssh port forwarding could be a very useful feature for my work right now.

An alternative to PuTTY too I guess

Very nice, GUIs are always appreciated as they make stuff easier by showing you what to do and needing to type less
