I fail to see the point of this.

So, like, a meta package? I don’t understand this, as a linux user. And the projects mentioned on their homepage are…nieche at best.
Can someone explain to me how this would benefit linux gamers and freedom of choice on linux?

i think it will just lessen duplication of effort when improving driver support for gaming hardware
so distros can chip into that and mostly focus on their intended gaming experience
Goddamn it, when will people learn to stop using OGC as an acronym
The “g” doesn’t connect, so the risk is pretty low
That seems like a great reason to use it.
A spokesman for OGC said, “It is not inappropriate to an organisation that’s looking to have a firm grip on Government spend.”
At least they’ve got a good sense of humour about it.
