- Currently planning on a trip to go see family. And dealing with this bullshit has been on my mind a lot. - So far I have a list of todos for removing data from my phone. Not looking forward to it. - Can’t you back it up, wipe it, and restore it after you’re safe? - Thats the plan. Gonna have to be mostly manual for a lot of it, but I’d rather it be manual than go through samsung or something. - I think going through Samsung (or even Google/Apple) is relatively safe particularly for a short term solution. Maybe that’ll change in a couple years, but it’s fine for now. - You’re probably right, but I also am paranoid.

- Have you considered using a burner phone or something while you’re abroad? - I have, and I don’t think it would really change all that much. Regardless if it’s my burner phone or actual phone, the apps, contacts, etc I need to travel would all be the same regardless. So I may as well just make a backup of all my shit to my desktop, wipe everything but the necessities, and there’ll be nothing for them.

- This was discussed. Burner while in transit, phone packed, SIM card out and hidden. - Or. - One phone second SIM card for travel.

- I would not take my phone or laptop to the US if I would go at all.
- just ship it to your hotel.
