Cliffhanger is an odd one. It is in the same category as Speed and John Wick.
Light weight, totally predictable and just so much fun!
At the time, most people didn’t think it was a classic. But I thought it was fun.
The SNES game was pretty decent for a movie adaptation at the time.
The Wiki page on this film is quite interesting. Basically, this reboot started life as Cliffhanger 2 which was announced in 1994.
From then on, the film has been in development hell right up until October 2025 when Stallone pulled out of the project. It was then developed into this reboot.
I’ll admit I rolled my eyes but after reading i’m actually kinda interested. time will tell.
