Probably preaching to the choir here but when you buy a TV:

• Don’t connect it to the internet
• Plug in an external box
• Make sure it works as expected

It’s a lot easier to replace a $20 streaming box if it goes rogue than it is a $400+ TV. Disconnecting from the internet ensures they can’t force these sorts of changes on you later down the line.

So glad I abandoned Roku. Just wish I had done it sooner.

I don’t know that these ads escape the Roku channel… at least I haven’t seen an ad outside of there. Hopefully something better comes along in that price bracket.
