I think I’m about ready to switch to something QT based. Whether that is LXQT, KDE, or Trinity is still to be determined.

I’m a long time xfce user and my battle with CSD has ended with me losing. Too much stuff just breaks. I’ve more or less been forced to use adwaita as my theme for everything.

Hell, I’m already running plenty of QT software already.

It also nuked some of the popular Gnome extension integrations. It also kept the “test mic” channel open, even after I had closed it. Needed to restart to fix it.

Overall, it seems to come with some functional bugs, in addition to the UI changes.

definitely doesn’t look as good as the GTK did, but I hope they simplify the interface at some point There’s no reason to keep these 3 menu areas, just bundle them together in tabs or one side menu to keep the hierarchy of players and effects under output/input.

edit: it’s actually 4 areas counting the preferences at the top right

Maybe they could keep output, input, pipewire at the top. Then make preset, players and effect tabs or a side menu below those. For consistency it’d also mean changing presets to be full screen like the other two

thanks, I had to restart to see the change. Why is a “text color” being used as background though

Probably because “neutral text” color is rarely used by other softwares and they use it to prevent conflicts

no hatred toward GTK, but if all Linux softwares use GTK I will switch back to Windows, again no hatred toward GTK

I mean, if you’re ready to ditch an entire OS, your privacy, and deal with all of Windows’ bullshit because of it, I’d say it’s absolutely GTK hatred lol

I probably exaggerate it a bit, I do have a burning hatred towards Windows but not GTK so I don’t think I’ll switch to Windows if all Linux softwares use GTK the most I’ll do is using VM.
