tarantinos personal version of acting is putting himself in roles where he gets to say the hard R and put womens feet in his mouth. paul dano actually attempts to play whatever character hes portraying instead of living out his own personal fantasies, or using his station to live out his personal fantasies through his characters.

paul dano is a good, if not great actor. and im assuming tarantino was considering him for a role, or just perhaps putting some feelers out to test the waters for some future collaborations, and paul dano didnt want to be pulled into the hollywood circle of former weinstein associates, women beaters, perverts, and generally unsavoury “old” hollywood types that seem to orbit tarantino.

he probably said as much, either to, or around the wrong person, tarantino caught wind of it, and decided to assassinate his acting chops using the weight of his opinion.

tarantino hasnt directed anything since the hateful eight. which was more than a decade ago.now hes just some rich sour puss/old pervert thats mad that a maturing actor likely didnt want to be pulled into the orbit of his dying stardom as a “legendary hollywood director” and instead disagrees with his character/choices rather than glazing him for a role.
