    Yeah, but then I remember we humans made pigeons & then just abandoned them, and are for some reasons mad at them.

    And they have a super tough life (many predators, a lot of physical limitations, a lot of human danger - and above all they have a lot of even directly humanly-relatable emotional intelligence).

    And let’s not forget how much they clean-up our cities, they do play a role, and they are organised in their cleaning efforts (a bunch are designated for search & communication for the rest of them to find food easily).

    I was always “aware” of this but after letting a couple nest on my balcony & raise their chicks (they produce “milk”) it’s even harder watching a bunch of pigeons & always seeing a few that have damaged legs or wings (usually folk don’t even notice).
