I don’t read r/conservative much but what I’ve seen is they keep banning actual conservatives because they correctly call out what Trump is doing on things where it’s not about left and right but right and wrong.
Some people are saying that it could be coincidental. OP asks why would the two accounts who post so regularly just happen to both stop at the same time on that day.
I won’t go into too much details of why this in particular is just dumb (1. it was not a “part of Moscow”, it was a small town in Moscow oblast, a separate administrative entity, 2. the outage was short and didn’t overlap well with the gap in posts, 3. the “one day” is conveniently not named - it was the halloween). It is the overall trend that is concerning.
The amount of red scare being generated and trickling down to here in the last few days feels less and less like a coincidence. Makes me think that the unpublished “why trump won” report is actually just “we didn’t blame russians enough, need to be more racist to appeal to centrist voters”. Then some liberal think-tank spun up the bullshit machine to full swing, and it seems even many progressives are eating it up.
Again, russia is not the reason trump won the presidency, or republicans won the congress, or the reason why you’re neck deep in fascist shit. The reason is your ruling class using the infinite money glitch that is capitalism, gaining unparalleled power, and deciding that trump & MAGA fascism are the most beneficial to them at the moment. They spent a tiny fraction on their wealth on buying up media&pushing a fascist pro-trump narrative there 24/7, recouped the costs because apparently propaganda generates profit as well, and finally got a jackpot by getting trump elected and basking in deregulation and even more flagrant bribery than usual. This is nothing new in general, what is new is that the fascist&imperialist tactics your country has used all over the world for the past 250 years are now coming back to bite yall in the ass.
Whatever putin did to help them was complimentary at most, and probably just outright inconsequential. Russia’s entire state budget for 2024 was a bit less than the revenue of just Apple inc. putin would be a run-of-the-mill billionaire, one of many, if he was a US oligarch. Any kompromat, or other personal relations he may or may not have over trump, were completely irrelevant to getting him actually elected.
This is not to suggest that putin is innocent, or even good. I hate his fascist guts and he belongs in the same prison as every living POTUS.
But by focusing on him, your anger is being redirected from the people actually responsible for your present situation. How very convenient for your ruling class!
On some level I also get it. Accepting this also means accepting that the culture you’re part of is what produced your current circumstances, including trump. But it is necessary, because blaming russians will not help you any more than deporting mexicans will help an average MAGAt.
So much cope. No Russia is infamous for their bot farms, support of far right and far left parties, and their explicit intent to destabilize the West. They’re not the only reason, but they’re still a big one
