I grew up in a shitberg redneck town.

Succession? Could be Bobby Dave’s HVAC Empire.

Beast In Me? Country-ass redneck issues in NYC.

It goes on and on. As with Greek tragedies, very little separates the shepherd and the king.

Edit: I challenge you to name any show or movie about modern rich people that I can’t put in a redneck context

    I’m suggesting the exact opposite.

That we tell stories of drama and tradgedy and greed and irrational decisions when we think that opportunity and resources aren’t limitations. As if those limits prevent normal people from losing their morals.

In reality, it’s just normal human behavior. The desire for wealth and power and greed doesn’t know or depend on how much money you have. We once fought to the death over water and livestock and crops. That hasn’t changed.
