    To be honest, there is some pretty credible evidence that Maduro in fact was a dictator. There’s a whole section on it in his Wikipedia article.

    HOWEVER, that does in no way justify this oil war the US is starting, nor will this kidnapping in any way improve things for the people of Venezuela.

      I’m not making any claim of him being a dictator or a good legitimate leader or anything else here. In fact, I think Maduro’s moral character and his legitimacy bear no relevance to the question whether or not it’s okay to just bomb Venezuela and kidnap their head of state - which we are in agreement on.

      I just find it absurd that some people have this “Well, this time America did a bad thing to a bad person, so I will not condemn the bad thing” attitude.

        I’m actually okay targeting heads of state that aren’t popular among the populace. That part doesn’t bother me.

        It’s like waterboarding a union organizer with really good whiskey.
