Interesting. How long did it take, tho??? I gotta know how long you spent carving pix of dix.
Though – in your defense 5cm x 4cm isn’t awful.
I did a linocut of a Picasso painting. I was sooooooo clever, cuz I made a xerox of the painting (Girl Before a Mirror), silk screened that on to a rubber lino block, and then carved the rubber. It took SO long, and I think it’s only like 5" x 7".
You can transfer a toner photocopy directly into the lino using mineral turpentine (white spirit). (Or was it paint thinner? Crap, I don’t remember). you place the toner side facing the lino and with some soaked rag pass over the paper. Voilà!
I don’t know how to do fast linocuts. I’ve tried, but I just don’t think well in that format. I’m a pen and paper type of thinker. I like more elaborate processes for producing final products, but I just draw a blank when confronted with doing it all at once.
That’s good you stay busy. I used to say “plenty of time to sleep when you’re dead,” but that’s incorrect. Pretty much every religion, etc is about your soul. Your body is very much not sleeping, and I sincerely hope souls don’t need sleep – that’s ridiculous.
Bottom line: if you wanna get things done, there’s no time like the present!

I half want to say thanks and half want to urge you to not even tell me about new rabbit holes to go into,.
I used a lot of them to make my own stickers, which is why they’re small.
Maybe took half an hour? I sketched it right onto the block in sharpie and carved from there. I don’t do a lot of planning.
That sounds awesome, though.
Wow – that’s fast!

I have mental problems, so if I’m in a mood — I make the most of it. I envy careful planners with their refined work and less dicking around.
