I’d be interested if it were pure Linux. I’m fine with de-Googled Android, I suppose, but I’d just prefer it to be all Linux. I use Macs at home, and my main phone is an iPhone, but the iPhone is just “okay.” I prefer iOS to Android, but phones have been kinda boring and haven’t improved much in the last 5 years.
The idea of a phone you plug into a dock and it becomes your computer with keyboard, mouse/trackpad, and monitor support has been a dream of mine for a while. Samsungs can do it, but most people don’t know about it and it blows their mind when I jack my Thunderbolt to HDMI cable into their phone and show them a whole ass desktop environment on the TV. Honestly don’t get why more people don’t do it. Google/Android TV sucks (too many ads), tvOS is just alright (no ads but restrictive); I think the best thing would be a micro PC (like a Raspberry Pi) and a keyboard/trackpad controller device (you can find 'em on Amazon for $20-30). Something you can run Firefox with uBlock Origin on. I kinda wanna try that with a base M1 Mac mini (8GB RAM/256GB SSD). But if you’re a Linux nerd, you probably know of ten better options, and I’m all for people learning about them. One might even be better suited to me.
