Migrate from digg to reddit due to enshittification
Migrate from reddit to digg due to enshittification
Can’t wait till they all come back to reddit in a decade, and this all repeats.
The new Digg looks fishy as hell. If people want to move there, I’m not sure we’ll can convince them to come here.
I would but I’ve been shadowbanned lol
Holy shit, after you posted your piefed meme to r/redditalternatives?
Could be but I don’t post on reddit regularly enough to know when.
Just want to chime in and say that piefed is amazing.
No worries! As the Piefed dev, you’re already building important fediverse infrastructure. I’m sure some of us can comment in your stead.
Though I do wonder if we could try and contact the mods to get you unbanned…
The shadow ban is probably Reddit-wide
Ah damn. Time for u/rimu_alt, then.
At least one user will try Lemmy again: https://old.reddit.com/r/RedditAlternatives/comments/1j53086/digg_is_returning_thanks_to_its_founder_and/mghlruv/?context=3

Huh?
Edit: Oh...
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AACS_encryption_key_controversy
A controversy surrounding the AACS processing key arose in April 2007 when the Motion Picture Association of America and the Advanced Access Content System Licensing Administrator, LLC (AACS LA) began issuing cease and desist letters to websites publishing a 128-bit (16-byte) number, represented in hexadecimal as 09 F9 11 02 9D 74 E3 5B D8 41 56 C5 63 56 88 C0 (commonly referred to as 09 F9), a cryptographic key for HD DVDs and Blu-ray Discs.
The controversy was further escalated in early May 2007, when aggregate news site Digg received a DMCA cease and desist notice and then removed numerous articles on the matter and banned users reposting the information. This sparked what some describe as a digital revolt or “cyber-riot”, in which users posted and spread the key on Digg, and throughout the Internet en masse, thereby leading to a Streisand effect.
I heard about Digg first time yesterday. From what I understand, people left Digg for reddit a reason. It doesn’t really make sense for them to go back when reddit has enshittified.
Just go post the HD DVD key.
I thought it got bought by a private equity company or an AI company? Or am I mixing it up?
Centralization is bad, mkay?
Plot twist!
I’d be quite happy with links and no socials.
