Set at the start of the 17th century, three years after the end of the Imjin War, Kingdom takes place in a fictional, medieval-inspired Joseon (modern-day Korea) and blends political thriller and elements from zombie horror.
Just finished the first episode, the cinematography, acting, and plot are all top notch.
The callback to the dirty fingernail, beautifully done.
A cerebral (heh) zombie film with meaningful pacing a political intrigue that takes itself seriously.
They even let you get invested in a character that doesn’t have plot armor!
ohh these zombies hibernate during the day like vampires.
Finished Seasons 1 & 2 - A absolutely refreshing show of dramatic force. A refreshing upbeat zombie tale done with seriousness, drama, and tangible consequences. I cannot recommend this series enough.
