I live in the desert and love hiking, every season that I have clothes for is a perfect season, and I have clothes for every season, ergo every season is perfect.

Winter: brisk exhilerating winds chill your exposed skin, keeping you cool despite your insulating layers keeping your core warm and toasty.

Spring: It’s somewhat muddy, bring good boots as the ground is less stable from snowmelt and monsoon. The birds and bugs are alive and singing, the cacti and sagebrush are green and vibrant. Also, it fuckin wimdy my dudes.

Summer: Bugs the size of hawks, wear repellant. The tunas are sprouting, don’t pick them yet, they aren’t good to eat. The sun is a deadly laser, wear white loose fitting garb, or moisture wicking high UPF fabric. Anything in between will leave you roasting to death.

Autumn: It’s getting darker earlier, perfect for twilight hiking but bring protection, food sources dwindling means gutsy cougers. Dress with care, it will be uncomfortably hot while the sun is up but approaching twilight the temperature will rapidly fall, these temps won’t kill you, but they’re certainly uncomfortable.
