I’m looking for a midrange android tablet, exclusively for taking notes with a stylus in Obsidian. It doesn’t need to be powerful, but just take good notes. The ideal size is anything 11’’ and under. I would also appreciate if it isn’t too bloated, and behaves similar to stock android. I have looked mostly into the Pixel Tablet as well as the Lenovo M11, P11 and K11. Other suggestions are welcome.
I’ve seen a coworker use one of those Remarkable tablets and they’re easily the best device I know of for taking notes. It won’t show you Netflix or Youtube, but the e-ink makes its battery last ages, the texture on the screen is excellent, and the responsiveness is pretty great.
I find them a bit expensive, though. I think there are a few Remarkable knock-offs around these days, maybe those will deliver a better bang-for-the-buck, you’l have to look for reviews.
I recently got a supernote, same idea but a bit cheaper, they offer a smaller one, and it runs an android fork instead of a Linux fork. Great for notetaking, haven’t used obsidian but you can side load almost any android app with mixed success
Nice to see options, I hadn’t heard of them before. Looks like the SN 10.7in is basically the same price as the 10.3in RM2. The smaller SN’s price does make it a nice option for giving it a try. I will bookmark both to see if any sales pop-up. Do ebooks and manga look better than a Kindle? Been thinking of getting something more open than my Paperwhite 2 without the need to jailbreak. I would imagine that tablets like SN or RM would look great since they can have precise fine-point note taking.
As far as I’ve seen/read they don’t really do sales ever, but sell open box good condition items at a decent discount.
I have the smaller one, and text looks a lot better than my Paperwhite from 2015, but I haven’t spent a lot of time with a newer Kindle for comparison or looked at manga on either. Even with a magnifying glass you can’t see individual pixels on the SNs though so I would think graphical content would look good?
Open box might be tempting!
My Paperwhite is also the 2015 model. Not seeing individual pixels with a magnifying glass is awesome to hear. I certainly think that it would look good for manga or other black and white format comics.
