Had to ask seeing as there doesn’t seem to be a community around it on Lemmy.
It’s a kinda loose “genre”, of course, but one of my favourites. When speculative fiction gets freaky it really does it for me. New weird, as they call it, especially.

I didn’t think I was much of a fan but then I checked the page to find apparently Morrowind and Pan’s Labyrinth (still need to get round to Disco Elysium) count for New Weird? Two of my favourite things.
As for books, I got halfway through City of Saints and Madmen a few years back and I was enjoying it but the pace of the painter story really made me lose interest. Still planning to go back and finish it someday.
