    I’ve almost always needed alone time to cope. Just a small safe space I can go to is usually enough for me.

    In my previous relationship I had a lot of difficulties with not having a safe space in the house. It caused a lot of extra stress and a really bad panic attack. Going for walks outside helped a little, but in the end I just had to leave.

    I’m now married and have rarely had any issues with my current partner. I feel safe and comfortable around them. When I’m getting overwhelmed, I only need to ask once for quite time and they stop talking to me.
    My partner would absolutely make a safe space for me if I needed it, but I just haven’t needed it yet.

    I’ve never tried, but I assume I could just ask if they’re willing to spend some time out of the house at a library or park. It would be unreasonable to frequently request, but I assume it would be ok occasionally.
