Of course, it’s everyone’s own decision what they do with their free time and it is not my place to judge anyone, but you could at least give a good idea a chance, right?

    They said it’s because lemmy.world was getting too big. Decentralisation, etc.

    Rather than redesign how their instance chooser works to de-emphasise instance size and nudge people towards other metrics they just hid lemmy.world and made the default sort “Random”. So now people end up on bad instances all the time.
