So… Sailfish OS, Graphene OS, /e/OS, Ubuntu touch… which direction should I take next? I have a degoogled samsung A21S right now. Someone else did it for me. I’m not a tech savvy coder. I apologize in advance for my ignorance btw.

But Android is obviously out of the question from now on for me, and I never want to touch Apple, so…

I’m gonna need some help here. Does a Fairphone running /e/OS escapes this maligned decision? What phone brands allow me the most freedom to decide jumping OS’s if needed?

    I need help here.

Most of the ones you named are Android based anyway except Sailfish OS and Ubuntu Touch. As far as I understand Chrome OS will turn into Android, not vice versa.

So GrapheneOS is still the best bet.

Last I checked (in the last few months), GOS maintainer(s) were unsure if some proposed changes might kill the project in the near future, and I’m pretty sure that was unrelated to this announcement.
