The movie was better than I expected, not a big fan of the Toxie costume in this one though just looks like some fancy Halloween costume, kinda cheap tbh. Maybe that’s on purpose to make it more cartoony? idk. It’s toned down quite a bit from the Troma films.
As an 80s kid who saw the originals at way too young of an age by renting the VHS next to Critters and The Garbage Pail Kids, this movie was not too bad of a remake. Yeah its a little toned down but i think it was just the right amount of campy. All the little off screen comments were great. Toxie was the character to reboot that no one would care about enough to say this ruined childhood memories.
Yeah haha, my older brother had a tape of it he got from a friend, I also watched it way too young. The scene with the guy getting his skull crushed by the weight machine is still burned into my mind I think. Anyways I do agree that it’s not a bad reboot at all, I enjoyed it but I’m nitpicky lol.
This is actually pretty cool. Good for them and those benefiting from this. 💜

It’s fun. I saw it in the weird $3.50 cutrate cinema the local real estate tycoon runs as hobby business and there were like 9 people in the hall.
