The first Panther Lake CPU model is ‘slated to ship before the end of the year and broad market availability starting January 2026.’ Such an announcement signals a delay, as originally Intel indicated the availability of Panther Lake processors in 2025.
As the article mentions, on paper A18 seems to be approximately close to a return to form. But the delays for Panther Lake do not inspire confidence.
That being said, I wish them luck, because more competition is good for consumers.
It’s very impressive if they actually manage to pull this off.
Fingers crossed, I think Intel deserves a win for all the efforts they’ve put into this comeback.
And we don’t want a TSMC monopoly on production, and an AMD monopoly on X86.
