“If a movie is made independently and only sells to a streamer, then fine. But I don’t want to make something where [streaming is] the end-all,” Olsen said.

    Boo hoo hoo.

Guess you’ll not be in a lot of new movies you big baby.

The majority of people don’t give a shit about the crapy theatre experience anymore. People have big enough TVs and prefer to ability to pause and eat whatever they want without paying exuberant prices just to get your chair kicked by some kid while others film brain rot TikToks.

Go find a different way to self aggrandize yourself and play rich and famous with the other disconnected shithead celebrities elsewhere.

Yup. With the way theater pricing has gotten lately, it’s no wonder. My rural theater’s prices went up by 50% for tickets while simultaneously kneecapping their rewards. We were a family that would see a movie every 1-2 months as long as there was something good. This year we’ve seen three. It’s just not worth it anymore, and with every passing day, upgrading/modernizing my home theater seems a much better investment.

Which stinks because I genuinely do like my theater and have been going there for 10+ years, and I love going, but the pricing, especially for tickets, has become ludicrous.

      exorbitant*

But yes, I agree, on all accounts. Don’t forget about when all the good seats are taken and now you have to sit in the front row and crane your neck up, left or right to see the damn screen. I haven’t been to a traditional theater since COVID. Much rather watch it from the comfort of my home and lounging recliners, while eating and drinking whatever I want, purchased from the grocery store for $5-10. It’s a much better experience for much less money.
