I actually have an “any” key on my keyboard. I replaced the scroll lock keycap with it becsuse who the hell ever actually uses scroll lock? I’m not even sure it does anything on a modern system. It certainly doesn’t lock a scrollable window from scrolling in Windows.
I used it 2-3 times in Unix-like OS. It usually works in virtual terminals (tty). I guess Sys Admins still use it pretty often to configure old servers with real (not virtual) terminals.

Scroll lock still works in excel. Really annoying too since if you don’t realize it’s on and you use the arrow key you sheet scrolls fast.
