Ive told the story before, but I basically dropped one off a 3rd story balcony onto concrete. It exploded apart into the canonical 3 pieces, but as soon as i got down there and collected them, they all clicked back together and kept working. Used the phone for years after that, no issue.
Mine was lost in a pile of frozen snow from Christmas break until defrosting, roughly April, when it was found in a puddle. Dried, charged and worked several years more.
Spill a little water on it and it goes all wicked witch of the west.

Yeah, these things had plastic screens and literally everything would scratch them. The shell was pretty brittleand just clipped on.
