An ethnostate doesn’t mean 100% of its inhabitants or ruling class are of the same ethnicity, it’s a state where some people have privileges over the others purely based on their ethnicity. “But Ben Gvir is mizrahi” is one of the dumbest zionist arguments I’ve ever read. There were dutch, british, afrikaaner, and other types of whites in South Africa, I don’t see how this disproves the existence of a South African white ethnostate during the apartheid.
Israel constitutionally defines itself as the nation-state of the jewish people, gives automatic citizenship to jews exclusively via the law of return, and enforces different legal systems in occupied territories depending on ethnicity. That’s the textbook definition of an ethnostate.
