People constantly say that humans are terrible by default, selfish, and violent, but BY DEFAULT, if you ARE a well adjusted human being with empathy, you will ALWAYS feel conflicted about committing violence towards another human, even if they 100% deserve it. In fact, if you kill or severely maim someone, you’ll always feel conflicted about it if you are a good human, and doing it several times (or hell, even ONCE if it’s traumatizing enough) will give you severe PTSD. The problem of humans being terrible to each other is always created by indocrination, propaganda, and the fact that being a selfish idiot is rewarded in capitalist society. This is one of the reasons why I think humanity is inherently good, and that evil people are the ACTUAL deviants, who just happen to be rewarded by the way society has been structured for a very long time (even before capitalism).

    Bullshit.

This is like thinking babies will instinctively grow up speaking their parents language…

And unfortunately we actually did experiments, and no, babies can not spontaneously learn language.

Modern humans get fucked mentally from killing, because most modern humans never kill anything their whole lives, at least not intentionally.

Like, you’re literally as far off from the truth as possible…

The same logic that stripped public education down to STEM in resulted in a generation without empathy or critical thinking skills. That shit doesn’t just magically appear, it needs drilled into impressionable you g minds.

And I know this seems harsh, but this specific aspect of ignorance has fucked over a shit ton of people’s lives.

I don’t get how babies not spontaneously learning language invalidates the fact that toddlers will instinctively walk up to other toddlers to play regardless of their race. And sure, you need to learn empathy, but that’s when the conditioning part comes in. Plenty of people become empathetic adults even if their parents are terrible people.

invalidates the fact that toddlers will instinctively walk up to other toddlers to play regardless of their race.

That happens because in-group selection is forming as toddlers…

Like, this highlights my general point. You’re just making a bunch of assumptions based on feelings instead of spending five minutes looking into all the actual scientific research.

The connection is that just like they need exposure to language, they need someone to socialize them and develop an aversion to violence. Done properly everytime a child uses violence they are told “no” and have some means of punishment. Which teaches them not to be violent.

Without that, you get an adult who readily uses violence.

You’re seeing the results of literal decades of socialization and ate deciding it’s not necessary because everyone’s socialized.

So why not just stop socializing them?

I hope that made sense, or at least someone else will help you.

But I’m just getting too many flashbacks to when ICP tried to guess how a magnet works…
