Yeah. I did shopped around when i changed to android. The sole reason is moving away from google, apple and the like. So i stopped using apple watch.

The only thing that holding me back of buying smartwatch is my data. I heard that i can use garmin without their apps and lo and behold, they started gatekeeping features behind subs last i heard, so that is out of the window. You know how that goes.

My only saviour is gadgetbridge for privacy respecting smartwatches. Havent taken a bullet to buy any compatible smartwatch yet. My wrist is dainty so my options is totally limited since most smartwatches is 40mm++.

I used jellyfin for music before but i dont like finamp that much, the UI a bit stuttery. Plus, im trying to cut down which services is exposed. I went with navidrome after that but i dread of exposing another service to the internet.

Now, im using nextcloud music with tempo since im already exposing NC, just a single service for all my needs. I dont have many music so it fit my need at the moment.

I had an apple watch before. It’s an SE iirc. It get annoying for me at least to charge it at least a day. Plus, it cranked up my unhealthy obsession to fill those rings.

It was fun seeing those number but deep in my mind i know i dont really care much. Stopped using it and havent missed it much. Mind you, Im a casual runner and weightlifter. I go to gym, sweat it out and go home. That’s about it.

Although, i missed listening to music with it. No need to bring my phone.

Did none of you read the articles. Its for now playing feature. The one that scan music in the background and display on your lockscreen. Before this, it’s just the artist and track name.

Create a private space. Install sandboxed google play in there. Install banking app or any other google play dependant app in private space.

That’s the most reasonable and less hassle method in my opinon. Lock it down when not in use. Cons? no push notification when locked down.

Havent try immich but i heard immich was the next best thing, be aware though, last i heard even the dev said the app was in active development so things might break.

As others has posted. Immich or photoprism. But, i’d check your settings, nextcloud instant upload and syncthing work wonders for me.
