That four hour limit really outs things into perspective for someone just starting out. Most people don’t understand the constraints at first.

But you need a massive battery bank to run stuff, batteries have a limited lifespan (especially the crap used in a UPS).

It’s not cheap, you generally want to overbuild everything, and there are ongoing costs (hardware failures, batteries, etc).

But it can be done. Just have to do the math for your max power draw, then how much uptime you need determines the size of your battery bank and number of panels (which is influenced by how much sun you get/how consistent it is). You need enough panels to run your system and charge batteries, given the limitations of sun availability.

That word “should” is a tricky little fella, he implies a judgement, the question is what’s the source of that judgement?

Wayne Dyer discusses the issues and challenges of words like “should” in his book “Your Erroneous Zones” by using a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy approach: examining and rewriting how we think about things.

When I find myself using that particular word, I ask myself “should, according to who?”. Almost always I find I have an old “script” in my head about priorities, values, etc, that upon re-examining I find it’s no longer useful. Like “I bought this game, therefore I must get maximum value from it”.

Sometimes things run their course, and that’s that.

Drives me crazy that accounting software is SAAS. The last thing I want is my business accounting on someone else’s systems, regardless of how encrypted, backed up, etc.

Just look at the recent large company whose entire business data set was deleted by Google. If it were a small mom n pop, they’d be out of business before Google even responded.

This is old news.

See, that’s the problem with pre-judging someone just on immutable characteristics that you believe mean a certain thing.

Throughout time groups of people have been biased against other groups, for all sorts of reasons, largely just “out group”.

Assuming that only goes one way, and assuming based on skin color alone (again, exactly which color, is there a Pantone code for “white people”?) that everyone in that assumed group have the same experience is just nonsense. Or bias, prejudice, bigotry. Pick whichever you like.

If running Home, that’s half the problem. It’s got more crap than Pro, and lacks support for Group Policy. If you can run Pro, it’s a big help.

WinDebloat on Github works very well.

Even better is to use the LTSC (Long-term Service Channel) versions of Windows. These already have almost no bloat, and won’t break stuff from updates, because they only get security updates twice a year. No monthly feature updates.

The LTSC link above also has activation scripts, provided by microsoft.
