(He/Him/佢/他)
Native Speaker of Cantonese, Mandarin, Taishanese, and English.
共产党… more like 共慘黨 lmao (homophone word joke, 共产 is “communist”; 共慘 is “suffering together”, same pronunciation lol)
光復香港,時代革命。
Liberate Hong Kong, Revolution of Our Times.

Who cares. We’re colonizers, the natives lives don’t matter /s
(check history book lol, humans are brutal)

Bro found out the ban expired and immediately chose violence… 💀

God help us,
oh yea there is no god…
this is a suicide carriage, but I guess its useful for when I lose the will to live lol

But, does this make me immune from getting grabbed by a bunch of armed masked men? 🧐

Contempt (insult?) of cops should be legal.
Personal opinion. (It’s illegal in Taiwan)
Lol. Reminds me of a joke: If you go to Hong Kong and say 谁拆楼, is sounds similar to 死差佬 (in Cantonese), an “insult” to cops.
Chinese is good at making names short, but terrible at making names extremely short.
My name is ■■■, and its funny how knowing the number of characters does not deanonymize me an any way, almost everyone has 3 character names, its so standarized.
Except like those rare 2 character names, in which case society just deems you weird (not really, but I personally always notice the 2 character names more, but yes, you could technically make your name shorter. Or if you have 4 characters, people are gonna think you’re a Japanese (because last name having 2 characters is a very Japanese thing).
So if you go to a western country and have to use the Pinyin as your name, its usually gonna be 2-5 letters for last name, 4-10 letters for the given name, not too long, not too short, just perfect. You could say Chinese names are the perfect names, 3 characters, 3 4 三四 生死 life-death, 4 is death, 3 is life. So your name is kinda symbolically representing life. (Not sure if this is intended or I’m just attibuting meaning to coincidences)
But also: Names like 曹操 (Cao Cao) has a very short Pinyin name, if you are lucky enough to get these short names (or I guess you could change it, couldn’t you?)
(Also how does a Taiwanese get their name romanized? Taiwan doesn’t use Pinyin… 🤔)

Hey, it’s a The Good Place meme in the wild!
+1

GDR is one tiny country.
Imagine every Chinese or every Indian started writing physical mail.

Behold, a wild r/AITAH post has appeared!

Based on your previous posts, I assume you are a Mandarin speaking Taiwanese?
Passive Aggressive

Wait a minute, this sounds suspiciously familiar… I think I heard about the psudoscience of a government measuring the size of people’s heads to try to find out their ethnicity… somewhere in Rwanda… 🧐

Lol, you’re fine, there’s no karma here. relax. xD
Downvote is against the post, not against the user.
Usually around the fediverse (aka: platforms like Lemmy) are more left-leaning, so by default, people assume you’re trolling, but it’s fine. In the English language, some people ask questions that seem innocent, but is secretly trying to push an agenda. People just assumed that it was what you were doing.

OP had a weird obsession with
So this comment is basically mocking that.

You need like near perfect internet for that to work. Lag is very painful even as of now. Nobody in a developing country, or even just a less-developed neighborhood in a developed country, would be able to play.
Wanna play on your steam deck in the subway? Nope (afiak internet still non-existent tunnels, or very shitty if it exists). Going on a trip to some remote place and wanna game a bit? Nope. Boring flight? Nope.
People are gonna hate it.

I see dead serious “we should bludgeon X and his family to death” posts that make me very uncomfortable.
Common fedpost lol.

The biggest difference is line of sight communications can not be picked up by a microphone. No need to worry about smartphones, or talking too loud and neighbors hear it. Even in public, you can find a blind spot where CCTV doesn’t see you, then use sign language, even a cop around the corner cannot know what you signed, but if you talked, they could hear your prescense. In many situations, it’s much easier to control who can see you, vs controlling where your soundwaves go. Short of any reality-bending inventions, physics is physics, light always stops with a wall. This isn’t just speaking a different language, this is a whole different approach to how your communicate.
I mean, you know how when a covert ops military operation is depicted in media, the soldiers always use sign gestures when around enemy troops? It’s like that. Harder to detect.

Oh yea, I learned about those when I was a teen. Since then, I kinda feel like NSA was always watching me, just imagining some dude in a suit somewhere on a rooftop aiming the laser at the window just to listen in, even tho I did nothing wrong.
Now the dudes in suits are in your pocket (phone microphone) lol.

Makes a cooler movie plot tho. Character says pro-government things with verbal speech, simultaneously use sign language to plan a revolt. Government never suspects a thing. Very cinematic I think, lol

That’s the equvalent of using ROT13 for encryption. Doesn’t do anything. They could literally build an automatic program to convert it back to the intelligence agency’s language.
Sign language can literally avoid the data from being picked up microphones, doesn’t even need encryption if they never have any data to work from. (Just remember to either leave the phone in your pocket or place an object over it to cover the camera)
Damn, sorry to hear about that, now I’m starting to realize just how much more fcked up the scale of “good parent” vs “bad parent” is, mine are shitty, but far from the worst, so in a way I kinda lucked out. My parents aren’t that crazy, thank goodness, and I still have good memories of them, just kinda relationship-wise detached because of life circumstances. Basically, the older I got, the more school stuff kinda drained my energy, depression slowly built up, parents busy with their small bussiness… so eventually relationship just kinda silently fell apart, with the occasional “parents yelling at me out of frustration” sprinkled on top, clock hasn’t stuck midnight yet, hasn’t gone nuclear, still sort of a “cold war” in terms of relationship.
Damn, the “FBI Friends” is wild, again, sorry to remind you of that again.
