If people learn evolutionary psychology from tiktok (or Lemmy), I certainly can agree that it gets into whole lot of random shit stories of any predetermined intent, including bigotry.

But throwing away an entire field of academic study based on them and saying it’s impossible to draw causality is also ridiculous.

I suggest you read this article. Particularly in #7 if the misconceptions since that’s precisely what you write in your next, longer comment.

The backflow current from fans is extremely minuscule and extremely unlikely to damage anything from that. There are even tests using a damn leaf blower on the fans and it barely generated any current. Even if it did generate a backflow, diodes on the mobo should prevent it from becoming an issue unless it’s a power so great that it just fries everything, but that’s basically impossible with a fan.
