Can you give an example of your assertion, historical or imagined, where we SHOULDN’T act against acts of intolerance due to some muddying factor?
I’m going to counter all the “this mechanic could be good or bad” with… Yeah? Isn’t that the point of experimentation?
I’m personally happy with the risk of blunders if it means devs aren’t just doing the same things as always. If it sucks, it sucks, but hopefully it brings something with discussing to the table in the process.

People irritated at having to make their own choices don’t get to then be mad that choices are being made for them when they outsource that decision making process, imo.
