From what I remember it’s backwards compatible on lower levels but can you easily run a Windows 7 app on Windows 10? Windows 11 was a smaller change but then they force you to upgrade hardware which is the opposite of compatibility.

People are used to their workflows and windows makes it a big deal to update from one version to another. Especially if you’ve made particular setups or used hacks they’re pretty much guaranteed to stop working. Linux doesn’t usually do this but I’m getting the same issue with android where every update breaks something and it’s worse because here there is no option to not upgrade.

I do have a Linux laptop and it’s too big to carry around all the time. The comment was half-joking because 6.7 is more a tablet than a phone so using it as a tablet might not be a bad idea (I don’t know it there are any actual Linux tablets out there).

Because of the stupidly large screen and since Google keeps taking away android functionalities it might be good as a mini computer along with a cheap android device that you actually keep in your pocket.

My old phone had a setting for this but it seems it’s part of OneUI so Samsung only :/ It’s called Interaction Control in Accessibility Settings.

I like proton’s app but I don’t know if you can use it with a different provider.
Gmail actually has a ‘Mark as read’ button on the notification now (finally). It’s a new addition so it may not have reached you yet.

In the meantime, we’re already verifying signatures for sideloaded apps. Can’t say the same about play store apps.

Do you usually use an umbrella when it’s sunny or would you do it just to charge the battery? I know it’s a thing but only very rarely see people do that, probably not enough to have demand for something like this. Backpacks with solar panels exist but I think these are pretty hard to find too.
I think the windows emoji picker has ascii emojis but yeah it’s missing from the others. If it’s only a couple you can add them to a shortcut or pin them on your clipboard.

Wire as in cable? Why on earth is it not at least wireless?

Maybe you like the US because most media comes from there? If you feel you don’t belong in Germany you can try other cultures too. From there you have access to A LOT of countries just a train trip away. And at some point you could go to the US too to see what it’s really like.

Why these languages specifically? If it’s for different reasons you should pick what’s most important to you. Also, with Spanish and Portuguese, Italian and French should be much easier than the others but don’t you already understand a good part of them?

Wish it worked like that with the lights. I don’t like artificial light so only have some back lights on or none at all most of the time. And will sleep until 1pm with two big windows without blinds in my room.

Not really to the point where my handwriting is shit because I haven’t written anything substantial for the past 5(?) years. But paper is still the best for drawing schemas/associations. And normal drawings of course, I carry a small notebook for that.

Seems like the natural progression of things

You know, if copilot also joins morning meetings for you while you sleep, that’s a deal I’m willing to make

Teams dying doesn’t sound too bad either. Just hoping the next iteration isn’t even worse

Meta? Musk? There’s definitely competition
A good rule of thumb is to set each machine/website to its original language (English in most cases). Because when you set your devices to english then sites and apps will also try to change to english and that usually sucks for government websites for example.
