So they are pretty “safe” to use if you have something like home assistant or something else that can receive their video streams locally. But so far they do not need internet access to function so you can just block their access outside.

Pretty much so, doing whole works, fixing wall holes (waiting for them to fully dry to paint takes a week and a month to fully cure, late 1890s house), ceiling, skirting fireplace surround, walls with feature walls.
