  • Effective and efficient can be different. Some sanctions could be very effective, as in they ultimately achieve the intended goal, but very inefficient as they use a lot of resources. Other sanctions might not be effective on their own, but could be very efficient, as they us very little resources on your own side.

For the latter iirc. when Trump started a trade war with the EU, the EU mostly sanctioned agricultural products from areas where Trump was particularly popular. It didn’t cause that much damage to the US economy, but it was very cheap for the EU to substitute these products and caused disproportionate political damage.

  • The life of the Prophet Mohammed sas. is a great example of statecraft, going from a persecuted outcast in his own city to challenging the Roman and Persian empire within two decades. People saying Islam would not or should not be political are missing the key notions about how social and religious values are deeply integrated with politics.

The same holds true for Jesus, who challenged the corruption of politics and religion in his time and Moses, who is the O.G. insurrectionist liberator. Also Moses is the most mentioned prophet in the holy Quran.

All Abrahamic religions are inherently political.

One could also argue that all politics are inherently religious, creating false objects of worship, like money and the individual, glorified dictators or a twisted understanding of collectives.

  • Note that political meddling and unscrupelous behaviour has always been the hallmark of the Axel-Springer Media.

They have successfully motivated the murder of the student activist Rudi Dutschke in the 60s by a Neonazi terrorist.

In 2011 they have cheered themselves for having pushed the then president of Germany Christian Wulff (it is a ceremonial role, the head of the executive is the chancellor) with a smear campaign based on lies and fabrications.

They hold the absolute majority of reprimands for violations of journalistic standards by the publishers organization ethics board Presserat.

The former editor in chief of the Bild Zeitung Julian Reichelt had to be kicked out a few years back for sexual harassment and coercion of multiple women employees. But only after the Company tried to keep it under covers and pressured another publisher to not publish their investigative research in Germany, so US media had to publish it first.

They were always like this and they will always be like this. Axel-Springer is also the main pro US and pro Israel voice in Germanys media landscape. It should be telling everyone where things are headed that they switched now from supporting the far right neoliberal FDP to the fascist AfD.

  • This isn’t some secret. Listen to John Mearsheimer, who has talked about this for years. it is simple logic.

There is about the same number of Arab Palestinians and Western Israelis in the area. So for the Jewish supremacy ethonstate that Israel wants to be there is only three options:

    1. Indefinite Apartheid. This is extremely costly and as the Arab population keeps growing more and more difficult to maintain. Also it is just preserving the status quo

    2. Ethnic cleansing. Drive all the Palestinians out. However then your neighbors have to harbor them, they form a resistance there, and they keep demanding their right to return.

    3. Genocide. By eradicating them all, you get the “final” solution to permanently steal and settle the land.

So what we see is Israel maintaining option 1 and looking to escalate to option 2 and 3 whenever possible. Notice how they first tried to expel the population of Gaza into Egypt? When this option wasn’t possible and they knew that their western supporters in the US, UK, Germany and others were okay with genocide, they escalated to genocide.

The only way to get out of this situation with minimizing further destruction and murder is to abandon the Zionist project in favor of a just state that grants equal rights and justice to everyone living in Palestine.
