neat dude, thanks for sharing!
Also, you must have not read the wiki properly, because he does mention OPNsense.
Thanks dude! Best of luck on your selfhosting adventures ✨
In terms of browsing Google Play there are two alternative ways I’d recommend.
First one is AuroraStore, grab it from F-droid:
The second option is AppFinder, grab that from their website here:
I completely agree that WireGuard and OPNsense are excellent choices, and I would have chosen them myself. However, I don’t think it’s fair to suggest that someone should “leave the topic to others” simply because they’ve made different choices. While WireGuard is indeed superior, OpenVPN is still a solid option and widely used today. Similarly, although OPNsense is better, pfSense remains a great piece of software - even though the company behind it isnt perfect.
People should still be able to use whatever software they like without being juged by it. Its better for people to at least start with something, rather than nothing: then its also more likely they will get more educated on topic and the different matters of opinions later on.
damn, that is a shame.
actually yeah, fair point. I think perhaps the videoes are probably what they aim to be more beginner friendly rather than the written one.
Very nice goal list, best of luck!
What mini rack did you go for? Am looking to do the same.
From what I’ve heard the best option for deleting your data from brokers is: https://easyoptouts.com/
This is just run by two honest dudes and is considerably cheaper than the other services. The reason I like this one (though not used as I don’t live in the US, is because these guys are quite transparent about the process.) I’ve heard numerous podcasts where these guys come into the show and talk about their work. As an example they were on the Firewalls don’t stop dragon podcast. I would at least have a look at this service and compare with the rest.
Best of luck 🍀

Yeah fair point
VLANs for the win! Was a difficult process for me too when i first setup my Omada stack, but got there in the end. Very nice to have it sorted. While you’re at it, you might want to look into having a seperate wifi for guests! I at least have a very limited guest wifi, with a QR code guests can scan when they come in to my house - neat little thing for them, plus i dont have to worry about their devices on my network.
Not sure myself. Was looking at both options myself but NTFY seemed to have broader support and thats why i went with it. Though i cannot back that claim up, simply from my first impression. If Gotify works well for you then I wouldn’t worry about changing it.
Great goal! Good networking is jolly important. Best of luck bud :)
Tailscale? 👉👈 🥺
Hardware Haven is one of my favs, so much inspiration to gain from that channel!
Nice dude! Jellyfin has defo been a nice change for me which i switched to during 2024.
Well this certainly has me intrigued!
Tailscale is amazing! I’ve tried many different solutions but always keep coming back to Tailscale for it’s simplicity.
One of my fav cakes, looks amazing!
