The conservative says "there’s problems with this new thing, therefore lets not do the new thing. Ban it.. The progressive says "yes there’s problems, but the benefits are good so lets do the thing and solve the problems.

When the internal combustion engine was invented. Cars would take away jobs from horse and buggy people. Also, I don’t have to change the oil on my horse. Cars are bad. Ban the automobile. That’s the conservative position. They were wrong. You get my point.
