This is because we feel we paid for something that expects nothing in return.
When you pay for a game that includes add ons and microtransactions, all of a sudden we‘re back to being a marketing target, and we implicitly know we‘re pushed to spend money.
We play games to escape the real world…
Not arguing that. Of the broadcasters / big media types, I find the BBC usually one of the better ones. But then I get my news from a wide variety of sources. The Intercept is generally a very good addition to my daily intake.
I am guessing you’ve never watched (say) Fox News in the US?
I’m not saying the BBC is good per se. I’m saying it’s slightly more objective than the rest.
Actually, the World Service will remain accessible, but that’s also not where most people go these days.
And just at a time when the US really needs a decent news service…
I am sure this was discussed at the Starmer - Trump talks as a way to further isolate Americans from the truth.
I guess it’s just Al-Jazeera now…
Just fucking no.
Please, please, please, let everyone using it have the area code 666…
Given that they’re not judged until after they die, aren’t they in this state anyway?
I just want to know how I can be opted out of being recognized. This has privacy nightmare written all over it
I definitely tried this with my (soon to be) ex-wife and my kids over a long period of time. We had “step mom appreciation night” every once in a while, and other special things.
Turns out it only helps if you’re actually telling the truth.
Sounds like you’re a great parent anyway, so props and good wishes to both of you.
Try Canada. Our prices are about half as much again as US, even when you account for the exchange rates.
I find it can be helpful to create additional test cases after establishing one. It tends to spot some of the corner cases. Beyond that, autocompleting can be nice, but is also often wrong (especially in VS Code)
I am trying a pure vibe-coding project in Laravel, which I’ve never used before. While it’s not too bad at the UI stuff, it’s awful at the rest and I feel has definitely slowed me down
Of course not. They’re a corporation. We like to think they’re perhaps less evil than others, but the truth is they would harvest their users internal organs if they thought it would increase shareholder value.
Fuck Capitalism.
The kind where they were getting ready to do it, and then pulled the trigger early
This implies you neither use nor change the toilet paper… Interesting…
It helps me to remember that “trump” is the word we used as kids to refer to a fart in England.
I think Fart sums him up pretty well.
Guys, you’re not thinking of the Shareholders and their need to survive open-wallet surgery here…
And yet, there is more music created than ever before…
I’d love to know what his sources are as I have never heard anyone say that
All this really seems to say is that AI is getting faster at being useless. Good to know
