OMG thank God, finally VAC is working??? The cheating was getting so bad. I kick and report people as much as I can but it felt like it never did anything.

Knowing this, I am not as upset about getting caught in the crossfire the other day. VAC flagged my game session after like 2 seconds and I had to reinstall completely.

I should go read some of these cheater forums and maybe talk a little shit. Little fuckers.

Is this a joke I’m not getting? I didn’t mean to make him delete his comment. I just genuinely was hoping someone else besides me loved the Kirkhammer! Did my entire playthrough with it as soon as I picked it up, but I rarely see people talk about that weapon.

I haven’t owned one in a while, but yeah you don’t want to leave your CRT TVs on if they are not in use, same for the game consoles. They don’t have those fancy sleep timers.

No problemo! The only thing I’ve run into with regards to being banned by other users is to not have anything or very little available for download. I got a warning from someone I downloaded from when I first joined because my library was very small and I didn’t have my filesystem figured out yet so I was sharing the wrong folders.

Also on my end, when I have a download queued for weeks or sometimes months, and the user never seems to log in, that can be frustrating. But I’m like you I don’t have my computer on 24/7, just try to be available when I can and have my whole music folder available for sharing, haven’t gotten any complaints yet.

I’m not sure about question 1, but I think the answer is yes, you do need to be logged in to share unless you have some other setup going on like a dedicated server or something. I just use it on my PC and try to leave it on when I can, but nobody ever seems to download from me, haha.

2. I use a VPN, haven’t had any issues or had to configure anything for it specifically.

3. I do use nicotine+ (also on Linux) because I had some issues with the actual program downloaded from their website. Not sure what it was because I didn’t really try to fix it after I found out about Nicotine+. It works great.

Those spaces are overrun by bots, so have fun fighting against a never ending army of CPUs that doesn’t sleep. I am going to protect my sanity and not give them my time and energy (which equals their money).

I dunno. I actually think about this sometimes. I’d like to think I’d be friendly, but it depends on how everything went for me leading up to wherever I end up. If I lost my entire family, I would probably become pretty hostile towards everything. If I wound up in a big safe place with lots of supplies and people, I’d probably be more friendly, but also wary of anyone new.

I do report a lot of cheaters, but I never know if it even does anything. I pretty much only play casual anyways. The worst is when someone is obviously cheating, and no one votes to kick them, or some special types actually vote against kicking the cheater so they can win …

ETA: the AI agents sounds cool, as long as legit players don’t get mistakenly banned. I didn’t realize cheating was such a huge problem these days until I started playing CS2 again. I used to scrim 1.6 Back in the day and never really had that problem that I can remember.
