I have a friend who’s sort of doing this with legislation so it’s codified and referenced.
Can’t find a good example but there is this https://hamish.dev/happy-valentines-day-nerds

It sounds awfully like “the elements of computer systems” but I still haven’t gotten around to working through it so don’t really know.

OK, when you put it that way, it sounds kinda fun

Yeah, this was really my first time with a Samsung and I’ll never go near it again…

I’ve never used one but a buddy has one (of some sort - no idea of the model) and he can barely use signal because the battery management keeps killing the app.
He’s still got the stock ROM on it, but hasn’t been able to make the messaging usable which is sad. I’d grabbed a Samsung that my work had somehow slipped from knox enrollment so was able to root it but found its battery management was similarly abysmal and am starting to worry if maybe recent android is emulating those old performance / malware apps that aggressively kill off everything rather than letting the OS handle its own memory…
Now I know this is all reading like a fever dream but my handsets are on laughably old droid versions because I’m scarred by A/B partitions and oneplus so have let it all slip (that and Google keeps shitting on android!), so after all that waffle, I’m curious if you’ve got any similar anecdotes??
Cheers, Flambonkscious the rando

My $$ was on moto as well - it’s already about the closest thing to stock and they probably need the boost.
Whereas Samsung is fucking worlds apart for actual android

Here comes the other part of our work, which is to take these 10,000 customers or a big chunk of them who have bought the vision of a private cloud on-prem and working with them to enable them to deploy it and operate it successfully on their infrastructure and on-prem,”
What kind of fever-dream is this?

Yes!
I’m not even a programmer, but lot of this is really dictated by the language, isn’t it? (C or .Net, for example - and all the default crap needed for UI elements I’ve had to endure in Powershell, which was probably calling a .Net library)

If only we libraries online of boilerplate crap with a few options to transfom them slightly… We’d need a lot less datacentres

Classic minesweeper ignoring the style

I think System Info is a windows thing - try running “msinfo32.exe” and you’ll see the same result.
I think microsoft have configured .NFO files to open in this tool by a file association, despite pirates using them as text for DECADES.

I wonder if there’s a way you can blacklist their certificate? I’m not sure if that’ll override the CA trust but it might subvert the updating process

Honest question: Is it silly to post the magnet so it can be resurrected?

Of the rack is just sitting in the floor, you know the incompetence is everywhere

I didn’t know about their AOSP contributions, cheers!
Agree on the kernel anti cheat, but those games always seemed unsatisfying, personally

The old one, for sure

Yeah, but after the rootkit fiasco, would you really want to?
Its a real shame the handset market is completely fucked and void of creativity

Eventually that insoluble fiber becomes soluble, right?

One part of this is jurisdiction. I’m being very simplistic here and only have a vague sense of the picture, really (my own prejudice - I find just about everything about meta abhorrent)
They are based in a country that’s solely oritentated towards liberty - not fairness or common sense.
There are other parts, of course, like lobbying, tax breaks and so on, but a big part is because they’re not based in the EU.
The psychological damage would be far greater too!
