automated driving becomes the norm
driving while bot stops are going to be a thing.
yep. it do be like that.
I wonder how much the fines would need to be in order to get people to fucking stop.
2,800 drivers ran that intersection.
jfc. I’ve only ever run a red in an ambulance, and that’s with the lights and sirens and still creeped into the intersection before passing through.
you know what the issue is? apparently these assholes are getting through life without seeing enough traumatic shit.
also people who drive recklessly should have to volunteer in burn wards and children’s hospitals.
Ok, if we’re gonna have more traffic cameras can we please, please start at the offramp to SEATAC? You know the one, where every 3 inches there’s a sign that says “ABSOLUTELY NO STOPPING NO PARKING NO FUCKING BULLSHIT YES YOU IN THE BMW I KNOW YOU CAN READ THIS NO PARKING” and there’s about 400 assholes parked next to those signs? That part. Can we please start there?
And jack the fine up every week until it ends.
yeah god forbid there was some place on the internet not constantly deluged with grown men paying billions to watch other grown men run around playing children’s games.
they’re trying to kill PBS. NPR.
Anything to prevent an informed public.
at this point I suspect they’re also buying air time to deny it to other outfits like Lincoln Project.
ding dong the bitch is dead
iirc he was a musician before this gig so… yeah, hard working blue collar stuff rrwwarr ford tuff hemi merika fuckyea

mike rowe’s full of shit. don’t think for a moment any of those jobs were made up though.
Man now I miss cash cab…
650 years ago steel was pretty common.
common but still cottage industry forged. a fiefdom would break up tasks to smaller smiths to forge chain for mail, or steel billets for creating axe heads.
Copper, silver and gold were used for coins and jewelry.
in small quantities and with considerable value, yes. you’re not going to wander up to some trader and say "gimme 300 furlongs of your shiny copper wire’ lol. and how would you buy it if you could? you have no specie, no tender beyond half knowing a bunch of kinda true science factoids.
for example, the baghdad battery is rather contested as to it’s actual purpose. Konig hypothesizes that it was a battery due to finding thin layers of gold he assumed were electroplated. Read the wikipedia article, these ideas aren’t really supported by a lot of the other evidence.
People were mining, smelting, and forging many metals 650 years ago.
yep, 3000bc+ going back to copper and bronze.
but there’s a tremendous jump from being able to smelt metal in small quantities - obtaining enough ores for each, for example, is probably more than one person work to produce anything usable. smelting, gathering wood or other fuel, building ovens and water wheels etc… and no one to call on for expertise…
hard couple of decades to produce some wire :D
primitive technology youtube channel has him trying to make iron for a few years with everything handmade. watch it to see what you’d be up against.
sometimes I really wonder if we’re worthy of our dogs.
It’s an alternate timeline where Jessica had a daughter instead of a sun
this is what the bene wanted. a daughter Atreides to mate with Feyd Rutha Harkonnen - but Jessica wanted to satisfy Leto.
and Leto defeated the Harkoenens during their invasion, so Leto rules over Arrakis for the indefinite future, leaving space in the story for fetch quests and base building.
uhhh so this is an entirely different fiction huh
Apparently the firemen disappeared too, so you have to solve the mystery.
I suspect you mean fremen…
why even bother licensing the story if they’re determined to change everything?
how strange
more plausible than anything else I suppose
… a dune mmo?
who thought this was a good idea?
love the frank herbert books. I thought the recent movies were ok. But MMO? what a strange fit for this universe… unless billions of the players die in the jihad lol
I suspect… hubris.
They’ve - and really - Musk - have gotten away with so much for so long…
yeah a lil scandal here, a little scandal there, pretty soon everyone’s at least scumbag adjacent.
Godotcon is in boston this week. I love the engine, it’s maturing rapidly.
