A lot of people use automation systems etc. They work, but don’t provide the same GUI/reports you might see from RHS or Windows patching systems.
I too was surprised at how sparse or apparently kludged-together the pickings were.

There are many ways to skin the cat for centralized login in Linux, including using Samba-AD or just LDAP.
Patching is IMO less fun. Landscape can work for Ubuntu but it’s finicky, and I haven’t really found anything satisfactory (FOSS) for patch management if multiple Debian systems. Setting up “unattended-upgrades” does tend to handle most of it but that doesn’t give centralized control or visibility.
Yeah it “works” on LG TVs but only if I don’t use SSL, possibly due to the (perfectly valid) LetsEncrypt certificate in my case.
That’s not a huge deal for my LAN access but it’s still pretty dumb. It would be nice if more devices properly supported it.
Cool. Let’s go with criminal impersonation, defamation, and slander/libel instead them!
Yeah. My buddy lived with his SO. They had kids together. I believe they did have plans to get married but there were financial/planning considerations. At the time, the house was in his name.
He died unexpectedly and without warning due to a previously unknown medical condition. I don’t believe he had a W&T.
The paperwork she had to deal with - much of which would have been not required had they been married - was horrendous, especially anything bank related. The bank also seemed to be doing their best to fuck her over in regards to the family home. It was a nasty ordeal.
I recall reading a post on Reddit where somebody was able to have two people playing from a single machine with dual video cards dedicated to VMs.
Wonder how well this might work for AI stuff… Dedicate GPU segments to processing on stuff VMs
Yup. Just waiting for a little while from now when Trump starts deporting Ukranians to Russia because “well the place they came from doesn’t exist it’s Russian now”
I kinda wonder about this in regards to the weird way these people structure their money/finances against their wealth. While I’m sure Elon’s bank account shows not figures then mine ever will, it’s my understanding is a lot of the “wealth” is tied up in assets like stock etc, and they then borrow against the stock for actual liquid cash-flow, such Elon did in order to buy X.
So my hope is still that at some point, Tesla takes enough of a dive that the bank makes a call and if he doesn’t have enough liquid capital to pay back the loans he might get outsted. Having Tesla survive sans-Elon would be great IMO
Well, in Canada they got caught faking last-minute sales for EV rebates, which might trigger closer scrutiny in other places as well
Free for life? Here is always been free for only the first few years of ownership and then you pay, plus the system is fucking terrible and doesn’t work half the time.
Ok fair point. My real issue is with fake trailers, AI generated or not.
Yeah these were annoying AF. Couldn’t look up anything movie related without done shitty AI faked up trailer YouTube video being the first hit
I’m guessing one of the reasons it’s not in Steam is that it depends on Java to run? I don’t recall every having a Java based game on Steam
I still have my circa-2016 email confirming my pledge for the Time 2 Silver, which ultimately got cancelled just before the fulfillment date due to Pebble selling out to Fitbit.
While I loved my original Pebble back then, I would really want something similar to look and function of the T2S so will watch this project in hopes it too is resurrected
Watch they do. I know because I’ve reported things for violating electrical standards, etc and made damn sure to emphasize that to their support, only to seethe same continue thing being sold months later.
I think that would be liquidize?
I’ve had some issues with NV cards, but those were prior to the newer open-source driver architecture which should be available for Turing cards and beyond:

I’ve actually got a laptop with a 2070 so I’ll try that out myself and see if it resolves some of the issues I know I had with the proprietary drivers
I yes, I should have mentioned the distro+hardware on this system is Mint with an AMD CPU and 6900XT GPU. AMD drivers are pretty well supported in Linux. I also run some Debian systems which do well, though I’ve not tried VR on them
There can be some issues with Nvidia cards due to proprietary drivers but I’ve heard they’re now supporting a FOSS driver in newer cards so as long as you’ve got one of those you should be good.

I wonder how hard it would be for an “unofficial” patch to “somehow” be released that restores the previous functionality
