12 days agoUhm… “Cognizance” can be revoked. Involuntary hospitalization is real. I lived it. It is allowed.
No sweat. It was awful, but better than what I would’ve done to myself. I just didn’t want readers to think they can’t be cared for against their will. Emergency room staff are trained look for signs of abuse and self abuse. It doesn’t matter how aware a patient is if they can’t be left alone without deliberately harming themselves.
