Ahan. Thanks. Will keep it in mind.

Oh yeah, that last lines were about Switch 2 doing record sales in first year, not about the holidays sales, should have made it clear.
I agree with all your points about holiday sales, but I am not sure if it means that it’s momentum has slowed down or it just went down because of other expenses and stuff people wanted to buy over this period. Will be interesting if the sales go back up or if they keep going down.

The same is true of PlayStation and Xbox too (and has been for a decade or more). At least in US, don’t know about Europe. This is not to defend Nintendo, just saying that if that was the issue, it would effect all the consoles, and would have been effecting them for last many years. Average people don’t even know about these, and many probably don’t even care.
There might be more to this, but with the current economy, and consoles getting more expensive instead of cheaper as time goes on could be some of the reasons, IMO. And there weren’t much holiday sales this year.
First year sales are also generally limited by supply, not demand, so it will be interesting to see how Switch 2 does in its second and third years, specially if we do get next PS and Xbox next year.

Thanks. My Three Houses is still paused, but will take a look once I am done with it.

Didn’t check the video, but did read a review for Switch 2 performance, that said it is better than Switch 1, but still recommended to play on other platform, if you have access to those. Either way, already started it, so not going to buy it again. 😀
Hopefully they will learn from the feedback and improved the the next games even more in Super Robot Wars series. I tried looking up some mecha animes to watch, but then taking the time “investment” to account, I realised I don’t really have enough time to add another thing in my screen-time / entertainment list. So, I’ll probably play these games with basic knowledge of a couple of animes I have watched. Do you think they will still be fun for me?

I usually have a small game going on with a larger one, to keep things fresh. Though, that depends on the game too.
I plan to play Divinity: Original Sin, Divinity: Original 2 before playing Baldur’s Gate 3, so you are still at least 2-3 years earlier than me.

How is Path of Radiance? Quick search shows this was the first game to move to 3D, and the first one back on home console after quite a while.

I remember this area. And if I still remember it, must mean it was a tough area.

I am going to call it “boring premium” colour from now on. And yeah, full colours shell will be cool, though I don’t buy multiple consoles, so won’t be for me but I know many people who would jump on the chance.

People bought so many JoyCon because of colours, they should realise they’ll be missing money like that.

What about full coloured JoyCon 2? Like we had for original JoyCon. Not happy with just a slight border and ring having different colours.

If Max Payne wasn’t in the pic, it would’ve been pretty difficult to guess.

So the only way they make sense is if they replace the simple code some collectors edition have, since you can’t then sell the physical game that you bought.
For all other cases, it’s a downgrade.

Yeah, it’s a fun, some of the screenshots can be really tough to guess.

A free update is also coming to the Animal Crossing: New Horizons game for the Nintendo Switch console on 15 January. This update features a new resort hotel run by Kapp’n’s family, new themed items and characters, extra exclusives like Slumber Island for Nintendo Switch Online members and more.

Glad to have the honour of being first! 😀
There are every kind of people here, but in general the community on lemmy is pretty good (at least in the circles I move in), so hope you enjoy it here too!

As someone who only buys digital, game key cards doesn’t effect my buying decision, but sad to see Game Freak (it’s Game Freak, right?) opting for GKC.
I (and my family) loved Yoshi’s Crafted World, so we are really hyped for the next Yoshi game. If I am not busy with anything else, that is pretty much a guaranteed day-1 buy for us.

Yeah, I love games like these, but sometimes games try to go for better graphics but lose the actual depth of the game, so was wondering how Coral Island does it.
Hopefully the bugs would be fixed by the time I get around to playing it.

Hehe, good luck!
I have been planning to reduce gaming a bit too, and do something productive. Have tons of hobby projects lying around that I never finished, should do something about those. Let’s see how it goes.
Not sure, I got the impression that all consoles sold worse than usual, but I didn’t actually dig deep into it.
