2·11 days agoTrump is a bigger gun grabber than any recent dem president. He banned bump stocks via executive order after the Vegas shooting, illegally it turns out, as courts later reversed the ban.
2·13 days agoHave you tried it under windows? If you have the same symptoms with 2 different distros I’d be considering a hardware problem, trying it in windows would eliminate or confirm that possibility.
I remember drilling out the the write protect hole so I could reuse them. Floppies were expensive and I was broke as a teenager, I loved aol disks.
2·14 days agoTerminal servers, sccm, SQL, software that’s only available for Windows. Companies and governments don’t consider ideology when they choose a platform. They consider “what do I need to run this product” and “what’s the TCO”. Most larger orgs will have a healthy mix of windows and *nix servers and often a separate team to manage each.
Just about every government and business. I’m guessing you’ve never had a job in IT.
2·20 days agoVMs aren’t emulation. Its a full OS running on virtual hardware. Also, yes, azure offers several distros, not just Microsoft’s.
The OS of the bare metal host shouldn’t matter much, if at all, to the guest. If you have a philosophical issue with the hypervisor running under windows I doubt you’d be using azure to begin with.
