Yes, in the far distant future people will be able to have things they need and not have to work. AI will also exist in that future. However, I don’t think anyone believes that future will arrive in the next decade.

And nobody is touching it but lets continue giving these few people all the money in the world and little leftover for everyone to fight over.
People have been talking about “post scarcity” since forever.
Yes, in the far distant future people will be able to have things they need and not have to work. AI will also exist in that future.
However, I don’t think anyone believes that future will arrive in the next decade.
The future is already here. It’s just unevenly distributed.

The issue is that, UBI is a contested subject. It is the answer to what’s happening with automation.
