That’s rough. Sad to hear how poorly your generation had it with all the lead paint and cigarette smoke. Do you miss the taste of DDT?

Yeah, we had plenty of bad spots, but we didn’t shrivel up and cry over a dead rhino. We had the problem dumped right in our lap. No, “Goodness! Children shouldn’t see such things!” We are all well aware.

And BTW, GenX eliminated lead paint, asbestos, and cigarettes (in America, smoke on Europe!). Another 10 years of DDT and we could have wiped malaria of the face of the Earth, but the US said, “We got it under control! Fuck the rest of y’all. And BTW, we won’t trade with anyone using DDT.” 10-years and malaria could be extinct. Fuck Racheal Carlson. Silent Spring killed more humans than Hitler.

Im quite greatful for the environmental reforms that took place. If only your generation wasn’t indirectly responsible for the host of other issues we are dealing with right now.

Imagine knowing what we do now about DDT and defending it’s use. I encourage you to read up on DDT resistance. Silent spring caused a lot of people to over-react and the culture it spawned created other issues but look at the levels of PFAS in our water supplies worldwide. We learned nothing.

I’m old. My back hurts. It’s not my first time seeing a dehorned rhino. It will still make me pissed to see it every time. I’ll appreciate not being faced with it in a place called uplifting news. I read these posts to improve my mood. Capisce?
